Hi there! I'm Atalya R., CBS + founder of LGS Perinatal Services. I began my breastfeeding journey in November 2018, and after overcoming numerous barriers, I decided that my purpose was to create equitable lactation care for people of color. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Public Health in 2020, hoping I'd end up in the maternal + child health field. With jobs far and few without a Master's, I decided to take things into my own hands. I applied for numerous scholarships for lactation education, received one, and lucked up on a job with WIC. Ever since I've been doing the most rewarding job of helping families.

I am a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, in the process of becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I also have experience with Perinatal Mood + Anxiety Disorders, was formerly a peer support group facilitator with HMHBGA, and have a special interest in perinatal nutrition. My love for cooking has led me to seek information on healing foods to offer meal prep services. My own breastfeeding experience of 4+ years also gave me plenty of lived experience, qualifying me in many different ways.
