Birth Pros

Let’s support families—together.

At LGS Perinatal Services, I believe perinatal care works best when it’s collaborative, respectful, and rooted in trust. This page is dedicated to doulas, midwives, OBs, nurses, therapists, childbirth educators, and other birth workers who want to deepen their lactation knowledge, refer clients with confidence, and build meaningful partnerships that truly serve families.

Whether you’re looking to refer a client, expand your lactation skills, or collaborate on education, events, or care, you’re in the right place.

Ways to Collaborate

I love working with birth professionals in ways that feel aligned, ethical, and mutually supportive. Current collaboration opportunities include:

  • Client referrals (prenatal, postpartum, pumping, complex lactation cases)

  • Lactation education & skills training for doulas

  • Guest teaching & workshops

  • Community events & panels

  • Care coordination for shared clients

  • Custom training for organizations or agencies

Have something else in mind? I’m always open to creative, values-aligned partnerships.

Refer a Client

Referring a family to LGS means they’ll receive evidence-based, culturally responsive, non-judgmental lactation care—and you’ll stay in the loop (with consent).

What Clients Can Expect:

  • Comprehensive lactation assessment

  • Feeding plans tailored to their goals

  • Support for chestfeeding, pumping, combo feeding, and weaning

  • Thoughtful referrals when care falls outside my scope

  • Respect for the care team already in place

What You Can Expect:

  • Clear communication

  • Respect for your role and scope

  • No undermining or overstepping

  • Collaboration, not competition

Lactation Training for Doulas & Birth Workers

Designed specifically for non-clinical birth professionals, these trainings focus on practical, in-scope support you can offer your clients—without turning you into a mini-IBCLC. Training Topics Include:

  • Normal infant feeding & lactation basics

  • What’s normal vs. when to refer

  • Supporting latch, positioning, and comfort (hands-off + verbal cueing)

  • Pumping basics & flange red flags

  • Supplementation without sabotage

  • Bottle feeding, paced feeding, and combo feeding

  • Tongue tie basics (what you can say vs. what you shouldn’t)

  • How to support clients emotionally without practicing outside your scope

Formats Available:

  • 4-hour in-person or virtual workshops

  • Conference or retreat sessions

  • Custom trainings for doula collectives & agencies

I am committed to ethical collaboration and practice within the IBCLC scope and professional standards. That means:

  • I do not replace medical providers

  • I respect doulas’ non-clinical scope

  • I prioritize informed consent

  • I support client autonomy and feeding goals

  • I value birth workers as essential members of the care team

  • My goal is not to “take over” care, but to strengthen the village around the family.

Scope, Ethics & Shared Care Philosophy

Frequently Asked Questions For Birth Professionals

Do you take insurance? Yes. I accept most major insurance plans for lactation services, depending on client eligibility. I also offer private-pay options. Clients are guided through coverage and expectations before services begin.

How do I refer a client? You can refer a client using the secure referral form linked on this page. With client consent, I’m happy to coordinate care and share relevant updates so everyone stays aligned.

Can I attend a lactation consult with my client? Yes—with client consent. Doulas and other birth professionals are welcome to attend sessions as a support person and observer. I value shared care and open communication.

Will you communicate with me after seeing a shared client? Absolutely. With appropriate consent, I’m happy to collaborate, clarify plans, and coordinate next steps. My goal is to support—not replace—the existing care team.

Do you diagnose tongue ties or provide medical treatment? I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. I provide functional feeding assessments, identify red flags, and make referrals to appropriate medical providers when indicated.

What is your scope when working with shared clients? I practice within IBCLC scope and professional standards. I do not provide medical care, override providers, or practice outside my role. Collaboration is always respectful and ethical.

How quickly can clients usually be seen? Availability varies, but I prioritize timely care—especially for early postpartum families. Urgent concerns are triaged appropriately.

Are your doula lactation trainings clinical? No. All trainings are designed to strengthen in-scope, non-clinical lactation support for doulas and birth workers. The focus is on education, observation, communication, and knowing when to refer.

Do your trainings count as continuing education? Some trainings may qualify for continuing education depending on the organization or certifying body. Details are provided for each training upon request.

What populations do you primarily serve? I serve families across the perinatal spectrum with a focus on culturally responsive, family-centered care. My practice is especially rooted in supporting marginalized families and community-based birth work.

Can you provide custom trainings for our agency or collective? Yes. I offer customized lactation trainings for doula agencies, birth centers, nonprofits, and community organizations—virtually or in person.

Do you accept referrals for complex feeding cases? Yes. I support a wide range of lactation concerns and will refer out when care needs exceed my scope or require medical intervention.

How can we explore collaboration beyond referrals? You can reach out via the collaboration inquiry form to discuss trainings, events, shared programming, or other partnership ideas.
